WEDNESDAY 13 Signs New Record Deal, Parts Ways With Band

April 13, 2006

Horror rock king WEDNESDAY 13 has signed a new worldwide record deal with Rykodisc/Restless Records. Rykodisc has set a tentative summer release date for the new album, "Fang Bang", the follow-up to 2005's "Transylvania 90210: Songs of Death, Dying and the Dead". As reported earlier this month, Warner Music Group recently entered into an agreement to purchase Ryko Corporation, Rykodisc's parent company, for $67.5 million dollars. Wednesday has also announced that he has parted ways with his 2004/2005 touring line up.

"Yes, it's sad, but unfortunately true," he said. "I have decided to part ways with the entire W13 line up. This decision has many sides to it, and was difficult to make. At this time, I feel it is the right thing to do. I want to say that I had some of the best times with Kid Kid, Ghastly, and Piggy D and I can't thank them enough for all their hard work and dedication that they put into this. We have parted ways on good terms, and there are no hard feelings between us. I truly wish them all the best of luck."

Wednesday 13 has assembled a special line up for the following shows:

Apr. 27 - Chicago, IL - The Metro
Apr. 29 - Toledo, OH - Club Bijou

Wednesday 13 (MURDERDOLLS) - Vocals/Rhythm Guitar
Eric Griffin (MURDERDOLLS) - Lead Guitar
Racci Shay (ex-GENITOTURERS, REJECTS [pre-MURDERDOLLS]) - Drums Brix - bass (ex-SKRAPE, DOPE)

This lineup reunites Wednesday 13 with MURDERDOLLS bandmate Eric Griffin for the first time since 2003.

Rykodisc/Restless Records have also announced the May 9 release of "Little Box of Horrors", a limited-edition box set of Wednesday 13's pre-MURDERDOLLS band FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS FROM PLANET 13. Featuring five CDs and one DVD, the collection spans the band's history from 1996 until 2001 and includes all four of their original albums plus a rarities disc and a DVD containing a live concert from 1998. The European version will be released by People Like You Records on May 29. It will contain different artwork than the American release, will be limited to 2,666 copies and will come with a FRANKENSTEIN DRAG QUEENS key holder, poster and a 26-page booklet.
